The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of Kevin Waterman, a 26-year-old man who lost his life during a shooting linked to sideshows in the area. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Kelton Way and Main Avenue in North Sacramento, where another man was also injured but is expected to recover, according to police reports.
This shooting was part of a violent weekend that saw five fatal incidents across Sacramento County. Earlier the same day, law enforcement responded to a separate shooting about an hour prior at the intersection of Seamist Drive and Sandcastle Way in South Natomas, where Joshua Brown, 20, was identified as the victim. Both men were residents of Sacramento.
Authorities have not made any arrests in connection with these shootings, and they are calling on the community to assist in resolving these cases by providing any relevant information. Residents can upload audio, video, and photographs related to these events through designated online platforms.
In addition to these tragic events, three other shootings took place on Saturday, resulting in injuries and fatalities. The first incident, occurring at 1 a.m. on J Street, resulted in the death of Colby Tevis, 22, during a birthday celebration. The second shooting, around 5 p.m., claimed the life of a woman in the College/Glen neighborhood. Moreover, a 12-year-old boy named Santino Contreras was fatally shot near 22nd Street and Meadowview Road. No arrests have been reported concerning these Saturday shootings.
