Fatal Dayton shooting death of Jermea Lyle – Obituary

On September 23, two individuals, a woman and a man, lost their lives in separate shootings over the weekend in Dayton. The victims, identified by the Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger, were Jermea Lyle, aged 26, and Jarrick Davidson, aged 36.

Police were alerted to Miami Valley Hospital shortly before 7:25 a.m. on Saturday, where Lyle had been brought in a private vehicle following a shooting. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to Dayton Police Lt. Steven Bauer. Investigations revealed that the shooting occurred near U.S. 35 and James H. McGee Boulevard.

Later on Sunday, officers responded to another shooting around 4:35 p.m. in the 2900 block of Louella Avenue. The victim, identified as Davidson, was also transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. In this incident, gunfire struck one vehicle and several homes, according to Bauer. The Dayton Police homicide unit is actively investigating both cases.
