Fatal Salford shooting death of Martina Karos – Obituary.
Authorities have confirmed the identities of a mother and her disabled daughter found deceased at their home in Salford. Martina Karos, 40, and her eight-year-old daughter, Eleni Edwards, were discovered after police responded to a welfare check on Radford Street around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 24.
According to Greater Manchester Police, their deaths are not being treated as suspicious, and no suspects are being sought in connection with the incident. A neighbor described Martina as “a loving and devoted mother” to her daughter.
Detective Chief Inspector Charlotte Whalley expressed condolences, stating, “My thoughts, and the thoughts of the entire investigation team remain with the family of Martina and Eleni. It is such a tragic loss of life, and our main priority is keeping their loved ones updated throughout the investigation.”
A cordon remains established on Radford Street as police continue their inquiries in the area. The community has shown support, as seen by the flowers placed outside the home.
A spokesperson for Salford City Council commented on the heartbreaking news, stating, “We are aware of the terribly sad news this morning and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of those who have tragically lost their lives. We’re working closely with GMP and assisting them with their ongoing investigation, and our teams will be supporting both local residents and council staff who have no doubt been greatly affected by the events today.”
