Fatal St. Louis Mark Twain neighborhood shooting death of Montrez Heart – Obituary
ST. LOUIS — Authorities have arrested two men in connection with a deadly shooting in the Mark Twain/I-70 Industrial neighborhood of St. Louis. The Circuit Attorney’s Office has filed charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action against 47-year-old Kevin Jackson, who was taken into custody on Thursday.
A second suspect, 51-year-old James Pickett, was arrested the following day and also faces charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
The victim, identified as 24-year-old Montrez Heart from Hillsdale, passed away on July 12 after being hospitalized. At the time of the incident, Heart was unable to provide information to officers due to his injuries.
The case is being treated as a homicide as investigations continue.
