Fatal Kamloops motorcycling death of Paul James – Obituary
Authorities in Kamloops are seeking information and witnesses related to the death of Paul James, a motorcyclist found deceased near Lac Le Jeune Road on September 24, 2024. The 60-year-old rider was reported missing shortly before midnight on September 22 after not returning home from a ride earlier that day. According to the Kamloops RCMP, officers along with the RCMP Air Services searched areas near Timber Lake and Lac La Jeune, where James was known to ride, but he was not located at that time.
On the following day, responders from Kamloops Fire Rescue found his body around noon. “Unfortunately, the man and his yellow Harley Davidson motorcycle were discovered off the roadway and seem to have been involved in a crash,” stated Corporal Crystal Evelyn, a spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP. The Traffic Unit is currently investigating the accident with assistance from a BC Highway Patrol reconstructionist. The police are urging anyone who might have seen James riding in the vicinity or has dash-camera footage that could be relevant to reach out to them promptly.
Additionally, the Coroners Service is conducting its own investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The RCMP encourages anyone with information about the crash to contact their local detachment.
