Fatal Fayetteville shooting death of Ajay Whidbee – Obituary.
According to police reports, the victim of the second homicide in Fayetteville on Saturday was an 18-year-old male. Ajay Whidbee was declared dead at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center following a shooting incident that occurred shortly before 11 p.m. in the 700 block of Edgehill Road. A second victim, who also suffered gunshot wounds but remains unnamed, is in fair condition as of Sunday, according to law enforcement officials.
Whidbee’s death marked the second shooting fatality that day. Just hours earlier, at 1:52 a.m. on Saturday, 25-year-old Elijah Wyand was also pronounced dead at the same medical center after a shooting at Anubis Hookah Lounge on Ramsey Street. Another individual was injured but survived that incident.
Authorities are urging anyone with video footage, whether from home surveillance systems or mobile devices, to share any relevant information they may have regarding the incidents.
