A woman, identified as 76-year-old Francisca Garcia Vargas, tragically lost her life in a recent accident in San Marcos. The incident occurred on the evening of September 6 at the intersection of South Twin Oaks Valley Road and Shubin Lane, as reported by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Vargas was walking along South Twin Oaks Valley Road when she was struck by a vehicle. Emergency responders transported her to the hospital due to severe injuries, but she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
Investigators have determined that alcohol was not a contributing factor in the accident, and the driver involved is said to have cooperated with authorities during the investigation.
