Stanley Walker II dies in fatal Hilo, Hawaii drowning

Fatal Hilo, Hawaii drowning death of Stanley Walker II – Obituary.

Hawaii Island police have identified the man who was recovered from the waters of Boiling Pots in Hilo as 42-year-old Stanley Walker II, a resident of Pensacola, Florida.

 

An autopsy conducted on Tuesday confirmed that the cause of death was drowning. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities awaiting toxicology results.

 

According to police, the incident occurred on September 17, just after 1:30 p.m., when South Hilo officers responded to a report of a swimmer in distress. Witnesses stated they saw a man enter the water before being pulled under by the strong rapids. He did not resurface, and they quickly lost sight of him.

 

Rescue teams from the Hawaii Fire Department and the State DLNR Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement launched an extensive search. Unfortunately, they were unable to locate the victim immediately.
