Fatal St. Louis County crash death of Delisha D. Evans – Obituary.
A woman who was classified as a “critical missing person” from Texas, Delisha D. Evans, 30, of Princeton, lost her life in a rollover crash on Friday evening following a police pursuit in south St. Louis County. Ryan D. Phillips, 33, of St. Louis, who was driving the vehicle, also died in the incident.
The Princeton Police Department reported that Evans had been entered into both state and national missing persons databases early on Friday morning after going missing in connection with a fire at her home in Texas.
Later that day, around 4 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety notified the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) that Phillips was believed to be traveling to the St. Louis area with Evans in a red Range Rover, expressing concerns for her safety.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., troopers spotted the vehicle on Interstate 44 near Missouri Route 141 and attempted to pull it over. This initiated a pursuit that ended near Rock Hill Road and Pardee Road, where the vehicle rolled over and came to a stop.
The circumstances surrounding the crash and the events leading to it are still under investigation.
