Fatal Mount Rainier shooting death of Freiver Yanez-Salas – Obituary.
On Monday night, 22-year-old Freiver Yanez-Salas of Washington, D.C., was killed in a triple shooting outside Chuck’s Liquors on the 3400 block of Rhode Island Avenue in Mount Rainier. Police responded to the scene after a report of gunfire and discovered three victims inside a vehicle.
Witnesses reported that an altercation occurred between an unknown man and a driver parked in front of the liquor store, which quickly escalated into violence. The suspect opened fire, hitting three of the six passengers inside the vehicle. Yanez-Salas was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others sustained life-threatening injuries.
The suspect remains at large, but investigators believe this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
