Fatal Germania Park shooting death of Malike Williams – Obituary.
A homicide investigation is underway after the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Malike Williams in Birmingham’s Germania Park neighborhood. On Tuesday, officers responded to reports of a shooting at a gas station convenience store located at 2714 Pearson Ave SW around 5 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Williams unresponsive with a gunshot wound outside the store. Efforts by Birmingham Fire and Rescue to transport him to UAB Hospital were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead en route.
According to investigators, Williams was involved in an armed confrontation with another man at the convenience store, leading to the shooting. Authorities are currently searching for multiple men believed to have been involved. Although there were other patrons inside the store at the time, no one else was injured.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald noted that possible motives have been identified, suggesting the confrontation may have stemmed from a minor dispute, possibly related to social media. He emphasized the tragic nature of the incident and urged anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers, where they can remain anonymous.
