The incident occurred on Saturday when Georger was the only person on board the single-engine Cessna after her passengers had exited the aircraft near Niagara Falls.
Georger’s father, Paul Georger, expressed his grief in a statement, sharing that his daughter was pursuing her dream of becoming a commercial pilot and was flying for a local skydiving company at the time of the accident.
Witnesses, including first-time skydiver Jeffrey Walker, reflected on the harrowing experience, expressing shock that the crash did not occur while they were still on board. He praised Georger’s professionalism and encouragement before his jump.
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the aircraft was a Cessna 208B, and the crash took place in Youngstown, less than 15 miles from the famous falls. The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
