Fatal Bakersfield crash death of Michelle Jean Burton – Obituary
The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who died in a crash on New Stine Road on Saturday as 65-year-old Michelle Jean Burton of Bakersfield. Burton was driving a vehicle that collided with a tree around 12:48 p.m. in the 200 block of New Stine Road. According to police, her car was engulfed in flames when officers arrived, though bystanders were able to pull her from the vehicle before it caught fire. Investigations revealed Burton had been driving erratically and had made a U-turn onto Stockdale Highway, where her vehicle struck a tree after crossing the center divider. The Bakersfield Police Department is handling the investigation.
