Fatal Normal shooting death of Randall E. Glass – Obituary.
Authorities have confirmed that 18-year-old Randall E. Glass from Oak Lawn was killed early Sunday morning near the Illinois State University campus in Normal. Glass sustained multiple gunshot wounds in an incident that occurred around 3:42 a.m. during an unauthorized “pop-up” party. Normal police officers were dispersing the large gathering when they heard gunfire and subsequently found Glass and another 18-year-old man with gunshot wounds nearby. While officers provided aid, the other victim remains in critical condition. Investigators have not yet identified any suspects. Mayor Chris Koos expressed concern over such gatherings and emphasized the need for community safety, stating that these events, which attract individuals from outside the area, are unacceptable.
