Zharia Wilcox-Ellis dies in fatal Waltham, Massachusetts shooting
Fatal Waltham shooting death of Zharia Wilcox-Ellis – Obituary.
Prosecutors have charged Kaire Holman, 31, of Quincy, in connection with the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Zharia Wilcox-Ellis on August 2. According to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Waltham Police, Wilcox-Ellis was discovered with a gunshot wound in a parking lot near an apartment building on Second Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ballistics evidence played a key role in the investigation. Two projectiles recovered from Wilcox-Ellis’s body matched a .380 firearm registered to Holman, leading to her murder charge. Prior to the shooting, there had been a physical altercation involving Wilcox-Ellis, her partner Melanie Williams, 30, and others outside the apartment. Williams, who lived at the complex, had already been arrested for assault and battery in connection with an earlier attack on Wilcox-Ellis.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
