Fatal Los Angeles rollover crash death of Aileen Ruiz – Obituary.
A tragic accident near Griffith Park resulted in the death of 19-year-old Aileen Ruiz and left three men injured during a single-vehicle rollover incident. According to the county Medical Examiner’s office, Ruiz was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the crash, which occurred around 12:50 a.m. on a freeway connector road.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the 2001 Honda sedan was found overturned and partially blocking the slow lane, with the vehicle described as having been severely damaged by fire. Two men sustained major injuries and were taken to the hospital, while a third man was treated for minor injuries.
The driver, a 20-year-old, lost control of the vehicle while traveling southbound, causing it to crash into a guardrail and flip over. One passenger was ejected from the vehicle, and two others were trapped inside, necessitating the use of hydraulic rescue tools by firefighters to extricate them.
No arrests were made, and authorities indicated that neither drugs nor alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. The transition road was temporarily closed as the scene was cleared.
