Authorities have reported the deaths resulting from a severe head-on collision in Easton, involving an 87-year-old woman from Redding and a 58-year-old man from Bridgeport. The crash occurred on Route 58 near Center Road around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, prompting multiple 911 calls. When police arrived, they discovered one vehicle engulfed in flames and another severely damaged due to the collision. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. The Bridgeport man, identified as Mario Licona, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Redding woman, Florence Mahony, was transported to Saint Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
