The deceased have been identified as Graham and Sue Tait from Parkes, along with Lochie Jacobs, 18, and his friend Joey Urban, 19.
The 23-year-old driver of the ute was hospitalized with suspected leg injuries but was later discharged and arrested. He now faces four counts of dangerous driving causing death, along with additional driving-related offenses.
