A tragic one-vehicle accident occurred in rural Tremont early Saturday morning, claiming the life of a Bloomington man. The Tazewell County Coroner, Charles Hanley, confirmed that 41-year-old Jeffrey Flaugher, II was the sole occupant of the vehicle that veered off the roadway and crashed into a farm field.
The incident took place just after 3:45 a.m. at the intersection of Townline and Springfield Roads, with Flaugher being pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 4:30 a.m. Tremont Fire and Rescue responded to the crash. An autopsy performed on Monday revealed that Flaugher’s death resulted from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the accident. The Tazewell County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Offices are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
