Lorena De La Torre-Luna dies in fatal Bakersfield crash
Fatal Bakersfield crash death of Lorena De La Torre-Luna – Obituary.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the woman who tragically lost her life in a rear-end collision in east Bakersfield on Saturday night. Lorena De La Torre-Luna, 47, from Bakersfield, was parked on the north curb of East Truxtun Avenue at Miller Street when her vehicle was struck by a Dodge Durango traveling westbound at approximately 11:14 p.m.
De La Torre-Luna succumbed to her injuries at the scene. A passenger in her vehicle was critically injured and transported to a local hospital following the incident.
The driver of the Dodge Durango was unharmed and was detained by security personnel in the area until police arrived. Authorities suspect that speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
