Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual found deceased following a car accident in Lexington. The coroner’s office has identified the victim as Mark Henry Speaks, hailing from Winchester.
Police responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident on Winchester Road near Haley Road at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a car had veered off the roadway and crashed into a wooded area. Tragically, Speaks was pronounced dead at the scene.
The property owner reportedly notified authorities about the incident, and it is believed that the accident occurred well before it was discovered. Outbound traffic on Winchester Road was halted at Haley Road while the Lexington Police Collision Reconstruction Unit conducted their investigation.
