Fatal Tamarac shooting death of Odaine Hall – Obituary
Authorities have identified Odaine Hall, a six-year-old boy, as the victim of an accidental shooting in Tamarac on Monday afternoon.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Hall accidentally shot himself after gaining access to an unsecured firearm while under the care of his uncle. The tragic incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at a residence near the 5600 block of Rock Island Road.
Emergency responders arrived to find Hall with a gunshot wound, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives from the Homicide Unit are investigating the circumstances of the incident, though no further details have been released.
In response to the tragedy, the Sheriff’s Office urged gun owners to store firearms safely, stressing that guns should always be unloaded and secured in locked containers, especially to prevent such accidental shootings.
