Fatal Normal, Illinois shooting death of Randell E. Glass – Obituary

An 18-year-old man, Randell E. Glass from Oak Lawn, was killed in a shooting early Sunday near the Illinois State University campus, according to McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder. The incident occurred in the 300 block of North Main Street just before 3:45 a.m. Glass died from multiple gunshot wounds.

 

A second 18-year-old male was also injured during the shooting and remains in critical condition.

 

Normal police officers had been called to the 300 block of North Main to disperse a large party when they heard gunfire. They responded to the nearby 300 block of North University Street, where they discovered the two victims, as reported by Brad Park of the Normal Police Department.

 

Police Chief Steve Petrilli stated that this could be the city’s third homicide of the year. He also noted that it was unlikely the victims were students at Illinois State University, with more details expected to be released later.
