Ricky L. Williams dies in fatal Lexington pond incident
Fatal Lexington pond death of Ricky L. Williams – Obituary.
The Fayette County Coroner has identified the body found in a pond near Walden Drive in Lexington as 64-year-old Ricky L. Williams. Emergency responders from the Lexington Police Department were called to the scene on Sunday afternoon around 3:40 p.m., near City National Bank. The Lexington Fire Department also responded shortly after, at approximately 4:30 p.m., to assist in the recovery of the body from the shallow water.
Residents of the area, such as Eric Duncan, expressed shock and concern over the discovery, noting how unsettling it is to have such an incident so close to home. Community member Daniel Shirey added that the pond area sees little foot traffic, making the discovery even more alarming.
The cause and manner of Williams’ death are still under investigation as authorities continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
