Fatal northwest Charlotte accident death of Thermon Beaufort – Obituary
A 65-year-old pedestrian, Thermon Beaufort, was struck and killed while attempting to cross the street in northwest Charlotte on Saturday night, as reported by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Officers responded around 10:55 p.m. to the scene at the 3000 block of Freedom Drive, where they found Beaufort with serious injuries and a Toyota Corolla with front-end damage. Beaufort was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The 68-year-old driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Investigators believe Beaufort was crossing Freedom Drive when he was hit by the southbound vehicle. No charges have been filed, and toxicology reports for Beaufort are pending as the investigation continues.
