The body of William Nicholas Abraham, a 69-year-old therapist from Baton Rouge, was found wrapped in a tarp along Highway 51 in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, over the weekend. Authorities are still searching for his killer.
Abraham’s body was discovered by a passerby on Sunday morning between Fluker and the Village of Tangipahoa, approximately 60 miles northeast of Baton Rouge, where he worked. The local coroner’s office determined that he died from blunt force trauma, ruling his death a homicide.
Law enforcement found Abraham’s vehicle on Monday afternoon, but the driver fled from police during a traffic stop and later crashed the car before escaping on foot. The driver has not yet been identified, though police described him as a thin Black male with short black hair, wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and khaki shorts.
Abraham was well-known in the Baton Rouge area for his work as a licensed professional counselor and life coach. He had over 30 years of experience treating substance abuse, depression, and anxiety, providing care to individuals, couples, and families. Friends and colleagues remembered him as a compassionate therapist who made a lasting impact on his community.
The motive for the killing remains unknown, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa.
