Fatal Route 1 road work accident death of Charles Resh – Obituary
Charles Resh, a 24-year-old man from Searsport, was identified as the road worker killed in a tragic accident on Route 1 in Orland. Resh was serving as a traffic flagger during a paving project when he was struck by a black 2009 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 70-year-old Clint Clagett of Bucksport on Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred as Resh directed eastbound traffic in the westbound lane. He was transported to Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth, where he succumbed to his injuries. Clagett was uninjured in the incident, and Maine State Police are currently reconstructing the events that led to the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
