Strite was last seen on April 12, and her mother, Charlyn McClain, reported her missing on April 20 after failing to hear from her. The location of the remains was in the same block where Strite had been living. Known for her resilience and joyful spirit, Strite was described as a loving mother of three, who would have celebrated her 34th birthday on May 30.
