Emily Strite dies in fatal Jefferson County disappearance
Fatal Jefferson County death of Emily Strite – Obituary.
Authorities have confirmed that human remains found in Jefferson County over the weekend belong to Emily Strite, a mother who was reported missing in April. Strite was last seen on April 12, 2024, and was officially reported missing eight days later, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Her skeletal remains were discovered on September 28, 2024, in a wooded area close to the 4100 block of Frissell Road. A local property owner made the discovery and contacted law enforcement. After comparing medical and dental records, authorities confirmed the remains were those of Emily Strite.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of Strite’s death and are trying to uncover more information about what led to her disappearance and how her remains ended up in the secluded location.
Strite’s family previously shared that she had experienced an abusive relationship around the time she vanished. As investigators look into possible foul play, those close to her are seeking justice.
“We hope to get answers and that whoever harmed her will face justice,” said Amanda Bauman, a childhood friend of Strite. “She had a way of lighting up every room she entered.”
Christi Bauman, Amanda’s sister, added, “Even when she was struggling, she always tried to lift others up.”
