Authorities have confirmed the identity of the motorcyclist who lost his life in a tragic three-vehicle collision on the A505 in Pampisford as James Layzell, a 30-year-old resident of Chaffix, Felsted, in Essex. Emergency services responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 5:15 PM on September 18. The crash involved Layzell’s Yamaha R125 motorcycle, a delivery van, and a Mercedes AMG. Layzell was pronounced dead at the scene, while the female driver of the Mercedes, in her 60s, and the 49-year-old van driver from Kettering were unharmed. The van driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has since been released on bail pending further investigation. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage related to the incident to come forward.
