Fatal Virginia Beach shooting death of Keshawn Woodhouse – Obituary
Virginia Beach police have arrested Javon Pollard, a 19-year-old from Portsmouth, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Fox Creek Court. The victim, identified as 20-year-old Keshawn Woodhouse from Virginia Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 9:40 a.m. in the 600 block of Fox Creek Court, where they found Woodhouse suffering from gunshot wounds. Following their investigation, authorities determined that Pollard fled the scene in a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run at the intersection of Lynbrook Landing and Baker Road. Utilizing Flock license plate reader cameras, police tracked the vehicle back to Portsmouth.
Pollard was apprehended by Virginia Beach and Portsmouth police SWAT teams less than 13 hours after the shooting. In addition to the murder charge, he faces charges of unauthorized use of a firearm, attempted robbery, and felony hit-and-run. He is also wanted on unrelated warrants from Newport News and Portsmouth.
Virginia Beach Police Chief Paul Neudigate praised the swift response, emphasizing the teamwork and technology that facilitated the rapid arrest.
