The Laredo Police Department had shared Escobedo’s information on social media to help locate him, but his body was discovered by an AEP worker in an alley on Salinas Avenue. His identity was confirmed through his tattoos and an ID found on him. Police stated that there were no initial signs of foul play, though the medical examiner’s report is pending to confirm the cause of death.
Escobedo had been caring for his mother before her recent passing, which deeply affected him. His brother-in-law, Luis Gonzalez, shared that Escobedo had been struggling with depression after his mother’s death. Described as a lively and generous individual, Escobedo was known for bringing joy and laughter to those around him.
The family has started a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral costs and is seeking community support.
