Fatal Lynchburg shooting death of Micah Cash Gaudio – Obituary
A man has been arrested following the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Micah Cash Gaudio in Lynchburg, Virginia. The incident occurred on October 1, when police were called to Fairlea Court after reports of a man being shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered Gaudio in his car parked in the driveway, but despite attempts at life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gaudio’s stepfather provided law enforcement with security footage that captured a light-skinned Black man exiting a silver Hyundai and approaching Gaudio. The video revealed Gaudio questioning the man about his presence in the driveway, after which the assailant shot Gaudio multiple times while holding a small child.
The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Nathaniel Lee Pridemore, was later located by police. He was found in possession of a black handgun and taken into custody. During questioning, authorities inquired about Christina Hamilton, the owner of the Hyundai. After Hamilton’s parents reported her missing, a welfare check led to her discovery dead from a gunshot wound to the head. Authorities believe she was shot prior to Gaudio.
Pridemore and Hamilton were the parents of the three-year-old child who was present during the shooting; the child is reported safe. Pridemore has been charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree murder, use of a firearm, felony child endangerment, and reckless handling of a firearm. He is currently being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.
In response to the tragedy, Liberty Christian Academy, which Gaudio recently graduated from, expressed its condolences, noting the impact both Gaudio and another deceased student had on their community. Special services for prayer and reflection are planned to support those grieving the loss of the two young men.
