Fatal Clear Creek County homicide death of Paul Peavey – Obituary.
Paul Peavey, 57, a dog breeder from Colorado, was found dead on his property in Clear Creek County on August 24, 2024. Peavey had not been heard from since August 19, and his body was discovered by volunteers searching his property. In addition to Peavey’s death, as many as 10 of his Doberman pinscher puppies were reported missing.
Peavey’s friend, Bruce Boynton, said he visited Peavey’s property after another friend expressed concern about not being able to reach him. Upon arrival, Boynton found the property in disarray, with the house and the puppy barn left open, and the puppies missing. Though four adult dogs were initially gone, they later returned to the property.
The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office, alongside the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, is conducting a homicide investigation. Authorities believe the missing puppies, which are microchipped, may hold clues to solving the case. Anyone with information is urged to contact the sheriff’s office.
