Sammy White, 39, of Ogden, was identified as the passenger who died in a crash on State Route 14 in Kane County on Monday. The accident occurred when the driver of a box truck swerved to avoid hitting a deer, causing the truck to overturn. The Utah Highway Patrol confirmed that the driver sustained minor injuries, but White was pronounced dead at the scene.
A GoFundMe has been established to assist with funeral expenses and to support White’s son, Dakoda. According to the fundraising page, Sammy White was devoted to his son, and he was also a youth basketball coach in Ogden.
