Walter Tighe, 89, was killed in a hit-and-run incident near Hanscom Park on Tuesday morning, October 1, 2024. Omaha police reported that the crash occurred around 7:36 a.m. near the intersection of 34th and Center streets. Tighe was crossing Center Street when he was struck by a silver truck heading westbound.
The driver of the truck fled the scene, last seen traveling north on 36th Street. Authorities are continuing to investigate the case and are seeking any information from the public.
