Authorities have confirmed the identity of the motorcyclist killed in a crash in North Austin. Brayan Cuellar, 21, was involved in a tragic accident on Burnet Road on the night of September 29.
The Austin Police Department (APD) reported that officers were dispatched to the scene around 9:11 p.m., where a collision involving three vehicles occurred in the 7500 block of Burnet Road, near Richcreek Road. Initially, an SUV struck Cuellar’s motorcycle, which was then followed by a collision with a pickup truck.
Cuellar was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The drivers of both the SUV and the pickup truck remained at the scene, with the pickup truck driver, Andrew Lycan, 37, arrested on charges of DWI.
The incident marks Austin’s 68th fatal crash of the year, resulting in 73 deaths. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit.
