The woman fatally shot at a residence near The Junction in West Seattle has been identified as Dr. Tammy Towers Parry, 57, who died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office. Dr. Towers Parry was a well-regarded physician who drew attention in 2021 for her involvement in the January 6 Capitol riot.
Following the incident, police revealed that the shooting involved Dr. Towers Parry and two individuals who arrived at her home with legal documents. Reports indicate that her house was in pre-foreclosure status, with a notice of trustee sale filed in May indicating an auction scheduled for two weeks prior to the shooting. According to police, Dr. Towers Parry presented a shotgun during the confrontation, which led to a 40-year-old man among the visitors shooting her with a handgun. After a subsequent update from the Seattle Police Department, they confirmed that Dr. Towers Parry did not discharge her shotgun. Authorities have recovered both firearms used in the incident, but as of now, no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
