Authorities have released the identity of a man who tragically lost his life in a motorized scooter accident on I-64 early Saturday morning. Joshua Casto, 27, from Jackson County, was involved in the crash near the 52 mile-marker on the westbound side of I-64.
According to the Dunbar Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on August 10. Reports indicate that Casto’s Vespa scooter had no lights on and was traveling 20 miles below the speed limit when the crash happened.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional details regarding the circumstances of the accident are pending.
