Austin police have identified a pedestrian who tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run incident in East Austin. Kameron Hartman, 28, was struck on September 25 at approximately 9:32 p.m. while crossing the street in the 4600 block of E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
According to police reports, Hartman was hit by a white SUV, followed by another vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the white SUV remained at the location and is cooperating with authorities, while the second vehicle’s driver fled the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Austin Police Department’s Vehicular Homicide unit at 512-974-8111 or submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program.
