On October 1, 2024, Tamara Towers Parry, a 57-year-old woman, was shot and killed in her home located in the 4400 block of Southwest Hudson Street. The King County Medical Examiner confirmed that she succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m. when two individuals arrived at Parry’s residence to serve her paperwork. Upon exiting her home with a shotgun, she was shot in the torso by a 40-year-old man among the visitors. Parry was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after emergency responders arrived.
Authorities have noted that the investigation is now in the hands of Homicide Detectives. While there were initial speculations regarding the nature of the paperwork being served, no official confirmation has been made. Reports from neighbors indicate that they heard two distinct gunshots during the incident, raising questions about the events leading up to the shooting.
Additionally, it has been revealed that Parry was present during the January 6, 2021, events at the U.S. Capitol and was a graduate of the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1994.
