Tywaun Reed dies in fatal North Chicago rollover crash
Fatal North Chicago crash death of Tywaun Reed – Obituary.
The identity of a 21-year-old man killed in a rollover crash after fleeing from police has been confirmed as Tywaun Reed, a resident of Waukegan. The accident occurred around 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday near the intersection of 24th Street and Bobby Thompson Expressway.
Emergency responders from the North Chicago Police and Fire Departments discovered a single-vehicle accident with the driver severely injured. Reed was partially ejected from the vehicle during the rollover, which then landed on top of him, trapping him beneath it. Despite the quick response from paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy revealed that Reed died from blunt force injuries related to the crash. Reports indicate that the vehicle had been wanted by police prior to the incident, but officers were not in pursuit at the time of the accident. The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team is currently investigating the incident.
