An 18-year-old man from Silver Spring, Christian Ortiz, was tragically killed in a shooting incident at Seek Lane Park on Tuesday night, according to the police.
Authorities responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Barron Street and Domer Avenue around 9:46 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Ortiz in the playground area of the park suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the life-saving efforts from both police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services, Ortiz was declared dead at the scene.
The Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division is actively investigating the case, working to uncover any suspects or motives behind the shooting. Officials are urging anyone with information to step forward and assist in the investigation.
