David Lee Wilkie dies in fatal Trinity County motorcycle crash

Fatal Trinity County motorcycle crash death of David Lee Wilkie – Obituary.

A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday night on State Route 299 in Trinity County, claiming the life of a motorcyclist. The California Highway Patrol reported that 50-year-old David Lee Wilkie from Corning was riding westbound on SR-299 when he lost control of his motorcycle near mile post marker 299 TRI 12.97, close to Burnt Ranch, around 7:30 p.m.

 

According to investigators, Wilkie veered off the roadway’s south edge and collided with a steep rock embankment. This impact ejected him from the motorcycle, resulting in a second collision with the embankment. Emergency responders, along with bystanders, attempted to perform CPR and other life-saving measures for approximately thirty minutes, but unfortunately, Wilkie was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

At the time of the crash, Wilkie was wearing a helmet. It remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident, which is still under investigation.
