Joshua Degrott dies in fatal Wichita shooting
Fatal Wichita shooting death of Joshua Degrott – Obituary
A resident of the Wichita Work Release Facility, 44-year-old Joshua Degrott, has tragically passed away. He was found unresponsive at his workplace on Thursday, prompting emergency medical services (EMS) to be called to the scene to attempt life-saving measures. Co-workers initially provided assistance, continuing to help even after EMS arrived, but unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful. The official cause of death is currently awaiting the results of an autopsy.
The Wichita Police Department is conducting an investigation into Degrott’s death, with support from the Kansas Department of Corrections. At the time of his passing, Degrott was serving a 44-month sentence following two convictions for aggravated battery in Leavenworth County.
