Fatal Bronx shooting death of Kavon Reid – Obituary.
According to the NYPD, a 40-year-old man lost his life after being shot in both the chest and leg on Wednesday afternoon. The incident took place shortly before 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of 198th Street and Pond Avenue. The victim, identified as Kavon Reid from Yonkers, was transported to SBH Health System, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police reported that Reid was struck twice during the attack.
Surveillance footage captured Reid walking along 198th Street while using his phone when the assailant approached and fired the shots. A local resident stated they heard multiple gunshots, expressing surprise at the violence on what is usually a peaceful block.
Authorities described the suspect as last being seen wearing a gray hoodie, black pants, gray sneakers, and a blue facemask. The NYPD is urging anyone with information regarding the shooting to reach out to the Crime Stoppers tipline at 800-577-TIPS.
