Lacee Kelly, 46, was tragically killed while walking on a sidewalk in Salt Lake City on Wednesday. The incident occurred just before noon in the East Central neighborhood when a vehicle, driven by a 57-year-old man who reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, lost control and struck a nearby parked car.
The impact pushed the parked vehicle into Kelly, pinning her against a fence. Emergency responders arrived but pronounced her dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed there were no signs of impairment from the driver, who has been cooperative throughout the investigation. Currently, no arrests have been made, and the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team is looking into the details of the crash.
