Two individuals tragically lost their lives on Tuesday afternoon when a driver from Sterling lost control in Prince William County, leading to a crash against a concrete barrier, according to police reports. The victims have been identified as 67-year-old Liliana Nora Loschiavo Sierra from Woodbridge and 90-year-old Alfredo Rodolfo Sobrero from Sterling.
At approximately 2:15 p.m. on October 1, the Prince William County Police Department responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident on the I-66 express exit ramp near University Boulevard. The investigation revealed that the 75-year-old driver from Sterling was operating a 2023 Audi Q5, heading west on the express lanes. As he took the exit toward University Boulevard, he failed to slow down or make the necessary turn at the ramp’s end, crossing through the intersection, moving across all travel lanes, and ultimately crashing into a concrete barrier.
Emergency responders rushed all three occupants to local hospitals, where Sierra and Sobrero were pronounced dead. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the incident remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
