Two individuals lost their lives in separate vehicle crashes on Interstate 77 near Columbia on Thursday night. The first incident occurred at 9:19 p.m. near the Percival Road exit, where a vehicle traveling south on I-77 veered off the right side of the road and overturned. The passenger in the front seat was pronounced dead at the scene, identified as 20-year-old Shayna Stukes from Gaston.
The second crash took place at 11:12 p.m. on I-77 north near the Forest Drive exit, involving a sedan and a motorcycle. According to authorities, the motorcycle collided with the rear of the sedan, causing the motorcycle to overturn and veer off the road. The motorcycle operator was later identified as 37-year-old Robert Licata from Lugoff. Both incidents are under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
