Shelton Oneil Phyall dies in fatal Moncks Corner shooting
Fatal Moncks Corner shooting death of Shelton Oneil Phyall – Obituary.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a man shot and killed on Thursday afternoon. Shelton Oneil Phyall, aged 67, was found in the parking lot of Plantation Apartments, where he had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at the scene, according to Coroner Darnell Hartwell.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded around 12:30 PM to the incident. Deputies and officers attempted to administer life-saving measures until the Moncks Corner City Fire Department and Berkeley County EMS arrived on the scene.
A 17-year-old named Jovial Price has been arrested and charged with homicide and possession of a firearm during a violent crime. Price is facing charges as an adult due to the serious nature of the incident, as stated by Capt. Lee Mixon.
Chief Stephen Young expressed condolences to Phyall’s family, emphasizing the urgency and determination of law enforcement in apprehending suspects in such cases. “There is no room for individuals to take the life of another person, and we will pursue all leads until captured, no matter how long that takes,” he remarked.
Price is currently being held at the Berkeley County Jail, awaiting a bond hearing.
